Sharnae L. Smith is an attorney who was born in our nation's capital, and has always had a zeal for living life to the fullest! She enjoys spending time with her huge family, the performing arts, shopping, traveling, eating, and helping others to reach their goals. In a recent interview, Sharnae shared what motivates her in her journey, thus far....

STB: What did you major in?  Are you currently working in that field?
SLS: I initially majored in Biology, then Dance briefly, then Political Science.
STB: So I guess that would be yes and no! :-)

STB: What community service activities have you been involved with over the years?
SLS: Raking leaves for the elderly, performing in shows at nursing homes, dancing in various stage plays at Evangel Cathedral, delivering Christmas gifts to impoverished families (through i5 Church), Debate Judge with Baltimore City Schools, Group Leader for Youth Ministry, just to name a few! :-)

STB: Sounds like community service keeps you quite busy! What else do you like to do in your free time (if you have any)?
SLS: Natural Hair/Hair in general, Makeup, Dance, Singing, Forming Businesses, Inventing, Writing.

STB: Do you have siblings?  If so, are they specialists or multi-potentialites like you?
SLS: Yes, three sisters. They are all specialists...
STB: Watching you and your sisters develop over the years has been quite interesting! You are right, they are very much specialists.

STB: Name one career you’ve always secretly wanted to pursue.
SLS: Acting.
STB: Hey, anything is possible for a multi-potentialite, right?

STB: From high school to the present, what was your favorite job?
SLS: I was a Volunteer Mediator for the Juvenile Justice Mediation clinic at Campbell Law School. That was by far the best. However, in my Professional career, my current job as a Settlement Officer has been my favorite.

STB: What advice would you give to other multi-potentialites looking to make major career transitions?
SLS: Be easy on yourself. Transitioning isn't failing. Plan as much as you can in order to sustain yourself financially during your transition. Don't expect to master everything right away but be okay with taking your time. Try to do everything in "your" way. Put YOUR mark on "it" whatever "it" is. No one can do "it" like you can! Focus on what makes you different and what makes you stand out, and do that! LOVE YOURSELF; YOU'RE WORTH IT!
STB: Well that really sums it up! Thank you for sharing!

Many Thanks to Sharnae L. Smith, for being the very first Multi-potentialite to grace this blog! You are beautiful, both inside and out! We look forward to hearing about all the new and exciting adventures, ahead!
